The Artist’s Eye is a focused 20-minute session for creators who want to understand the intention behind their own work and receive my direct artistic perspective.

This is not a casual private talk, a general meet-and-greet, or a full portfolio review.

Before the event, you will submit one work or one coherent project, together with one focused question or difficulty you would like to explore.

I will review the submitted material in advance and prepare questions based on the choices I see inside the work.

During the session, I may ask about elements such as composition, distance, colour, materials, lighting, pose, construction, presentation and visual intention.

The purpose is not simply to judge whether the work is good or bad.

Through focused questions, we will identify:

What you were trying to communicate
Which decisions were intentional, intuitive or practical
Which elements are communicating effectively
Where the original intention may have become unclear
What you could reconsider or develop next

After clarifying your intention, I will share how I personally see the work, what I believe is strengthening or weakening it, and what I might consider changing if I were developing the project.

This session is open to photography, illustration, cosplay, costume design and other visual creative projects.

Session Details

• Solo Session: 200 MYR
• Collaborative Session: 240 MYR
• Duration: 20 minutes
• Only 3 sessions are available
• Location: mit Photography booth at AniManGaki 2026
• One work or one coherent project per session
• One focused topic or question per session
• Advance submission is required
• No written report or follow-up document is included

Solo Session
The Solo Session is for one participant discussing their own work or project.

Collaborative Session
The Collaborative Session is available for up to three people who directly contributed to the same submitted work or project.

Examples may include:
A photographer, cosplayer and costume creator discussing one photograph
Members of a creative team discussing one visual project
Two or three collaborators examining how their different intentions appear in the final work

A Collaborative Session is not three individual reviews.
All participants must discuss the same submitted project and the same focused topic.
Friends, assistants or observers who did not contribute directly to the submitted work cannot participate in the session.

What to Submit

After your payment has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email from:
mitfolio@gmail.com

The confirmation email will include a link to the Topic Application Form.
Please complete the form by the deadline stated in the confirmation email.

The Topic Application Form will ask you to provide:

• The type of work or project you would like to discuss
• Images or a link to the submitted work
• What you intended to communicate, express or make the viewer feel
• The part of the work you are currently uncertain about
• One focused question you would like to explore
• What you would most like to receive from mit during the session
• The names and roles of all participants, if booking a Collaborative Session

Submission guidelines:

Photography or illustration: 1 main work, with up to 3 related images if necessary
Costume project: 1 costume or project, with up to 5 overview and detail images
Photo or visual series: up to 5 images from one coherent series
Full portfolios and multiple unrelated projects cannot be reviewed within this session

The form must be submitted by the stated deadline so that I have enough time to review the material and prepare for the session.

Application Process

1. Select your preferred time slot and submit your application through Doorkeeper. Select either a Solo Session or a Collaborative Session when applying.
2. Wait for a payment request email from mit. The email will be sent manually from mitfolio@gmail.com and will include a Stripe payment link.
3. Complete the payment by the deadline stated in the email. Applications that are not paid by the deadline will be automatically canceled.
4. After your payment has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email. Your session is officially secured only after this confirmation email has been sent.
5. Open the Topic Application Form included in the confirmation email and submit your project information and materials by the stated deadline.
6. Attend the mit Photography booth at your scheduled time.

Doorkeeper is used only for managing applications and time slots.
Payment requests, confirmation emails and the Topic Application Form are handled manually by mit via Gmail, so replies and payment confirmation may take some time.
Please use the same name and email address for your Doorkeeper application and Stripe payment whenever possible.
If the applicant’s name or email address is different from the payment information, confirmation may take longer.

Terms and Conditions

• Full payment must be completed through Stripe by the deadline stated in the payment request email.
• Your booking is not officially secured until a confirmation email has been sent by mit.
• Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours after payment.
• After 48 hours, all payments are non-refundable.
• Stripe processing fees will be deducted from the refunded amount.
• The Topic Application Form must be submitted by the deadline stated in the confirmation email.
• If the form is not submitted by the deadline, mit may not be able to review the material or prepare questions in advance.
• Failure to submit the required material does not entitle the participant to a refund.
• Changes to the submitted project or topic after the deadline may not be accepted.
• Each session is limited to one work or one coherent project and one focused topic.
• Multiple unrelated projects cannot be discussed within one session.
• A Solo Session is limited to one participant.
• A Collaborative Session is limited to a maximum of three participants who directly contributed to the same submitted work or project.
• All Collaborative Session participants must be named in the Topic Application Form before the submission deadline.
• Additional participants cannot be added on the day of the session.
• A Collaborative Session cannot be divided into separate individual reviews.
• One lead applicant must be responsible for the booking, payment and communication for a Collaborative Session.
• The booking cannot be transferred or resold to another person or group.
• Please arrive at the mit Photography booth at least 5 minutes before the scheduled session.
• The session will end at the originally scheduled time, even if the participant arrives late.
• Arrivals more than 5 minutes late may be treated as cancellations. No refund will be issued.
• The session is based on mit’s personal artistic and professional perspective.
• The feedback provided does not represent a universal or objectively correct answer.
• Creative, professional or commercial results are not guaranteed.
• Participants remain responsible for all final creative and professional decisions regarding their work.
• No written report, recording, transcript or follow-up consultation is included.
• Audio or video recording of the session is prohibited unless agreed upon in advance.
• Participants retain the copyright and ownership of all submitted materials.
• Submitted materials will be used only to review the project and prepare for the session.
• mit Photography will not publish or distribute submitted materials without prior permission.
• For Collaborative Sessions, all participants must have permission to submit and discuss the shared materials.
• All participants in a Collaborative Session acknowledge that the submitted material and feedback will be discussed in front of the other listed participants.
• The session will take place at the mit Photography booth inside the event venue.
• Although the session is reserved, complete visual or acoustic privacy cannot be guaranteed in an open event environment.
• Participants should not submit confidential, legally restricted or commercially sensitive information that cannot be discussed in an event booth.
• Participants are responsible for their own belongings. mit Photography is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
• Behind-the-scenes photographs or videos may be recorded for mit Photography’s social media and promotional use. Please inform mit in advance if you do not wish to appear in behind-the-scenes content.
